At one point in this movie, Guenevere kisses a scar on Arthur's wrist, where she had previously wiped the blood away from the cut with the hem of her dress, the moment they first fell in love, and says,

"I kiss the hurt that brought me your love."

And it occurs to me, that this exactly what we say when we kiss the crucufix.
