So today is All Saint's Day and i'm really bummed- I did assume that Mass times would be the same as every other tuesday, but no- when I got to the chapel it was totally empty... there is nothing more paradoxically soothing and yet as lonely as an empty chapel...

So are you saying to give up everything that she is - everything she believes (temporarily) in order to experience a deluded form of salvation through self gratification manifested by arrogance and sacrilege? I think the mistake you are making is that you are coupling atheism with Free or Abstract thinking.. implying that Intellectualism prevents faith in God.
So then, as an "intellectual" you have faith in NOTHING, because intellectualism doesn't leave any room for faith? or because you are just kidding yourself while trying to project an image that you would like others to see you as... and/or you weren't happy making sacrifices everyday, for God, to be a better Catholic... you saw all those carefree/indifferent people enjoying anything and everything they wanted, and in a moment of weakness... you gave in and have tried to rationalize your decision every since... Because It's just so much more fun sinning, right? Or well.. No! You can't be sinning if you don't believe, right? Hilarious...
And if you are such an INTELLECTUAL, why aren't you published? Why are you teaching? Using your talents constructively? Bringing about change with your BRILLIANCE? Is it selfishness? NO... Maybe it's that you just LOVE playing the big brain ON THE INTERNET where people don't need to know you... they just have to read regurgitated theories that you pass off as your own... cream themselves and come back for more...

I am mature enough to recognize and admit when I am wrong... But when you read back and see what the hell the original argument was... neither of us are wrong, we just believe different things.

in regards to the plagiarism, that was not the exact line of the movie... so your little bit on plagiarism doesn't apply... I am pretty sure that Jerry and I would get along pretty well in person... But when he suggests that people should take time out from being wonderful Catholics, and pretend to be an atheist for a few days.. I just think that's ridiculous... In some instances I can see how roll playing can lead to a better understanding.. some form of enlightenment... But not in this area... Their beliefs mean too much to them for either of them to make a dramatic change... and going about it in that way... that suggestion... Well that's why I bothered to comment.

The plagarism thing.. If I had been thinking of that movie, or that scene when writing what I wrote, then yeah I guess you could suggest that.. but I wasn't.. and I don't care if you believe me or not... because plagarized or not, it still applies..
Yeah, it makes me smile to ergo, considering none of this matters in either of our lives.. but it makes for good entertainment! Maybe that's why there are so many "News" shows that use similar formats to sell advertisement... because it's entertaining to watch two people go back and forth...
